The Tilt Family:

An Island of Misfit Toys

Must be

in the soil.

Started by a pair of friends who are lucky enough to call Virginia home, Tilt Vineyards was founded on a commitment of turning an outdated and archaic industry on its side (yep, we’re talking about wine).

Tilt Vineyards will create premium quality, sustainable wine with an emphasis on giving back to the community - which includes outreach and support to minority, women, and LGBTQ-run businesses, creating programs with local schools to learn about viticulture and sustainable farming practices, and contributing to the vibrant Front Royal community by supporting local businesses and creating events showcasing the robust local economy.

Our story is simple: we’re a mixture of odd and robust ingredients coming together harmoniously - kind of like your favorite wine. Welcome to the island of misfit toys.

We. Are. Tilt.

It all begins with an idea.

Here’s what we’ve done so far to make it happen.

It takes two to make a thing go right.

Jenny Statler

Actor, director, & tenured bar manager with over seven years of experience as a mixologist in one of NYC’s most upscale cocktail lounges, Statler has not only a passion for amazing wine but also creating it with sustainability that can scale. In addition to her time in the spirits industry, Jenny spent several years in Spain and Argentina, where she visited the respective wine regions, established connections with vintners, and learned about the process of producing quality grapes. Her vision, expertise, and knowledge about creating biodynamic wine programs helped develop the foundation and mission for Tilt Vineyards.

Evan Oellerich

It’s safe to say that Evan knows grapes. Like, really. With over a decade’s experience in vineyard management and winery operations across the most renowned wine regions in the country, Evan’s background includes organic grape-growing in Northern California and cold weather grape-growing in Northern Michigan at Bowers Harbor Vineyard. He most recently worked at Glen Manor Vineyards in Browntown, VA and learned how to grow grapes in a warm, continental climate— from seed to bottle. Evan’s operational expertise and knowledge has been the fire that keeps Tilt Vineyards engines running.
